I am excited to see relatives who haven't seen me wearing 70 lbs less bulk...I look forward to wearing jeans, shorts and t-shirts and maybe...just maybe even donning a swimsuit if the weather calls for it :)
This will be the first vacation we have taken since our Paleo journey began and frankly I am a little worried about the "eating" aspect of this trip. During the first week we are staying with relatives and it will be hard to manoever their kitchen and not offend anyone by not eating whatever they have cooked for us. I know they eat alot of pasta :(
As far as restaraunts I am pretty confident that I can make great choices so I'm kinda hoping we eat out alot, which is very different to what I feel here at home.
This WILL be interesting...another challenge to face and overcome!
Do any of you, wonderful readers have any good travel tips to share when it comes to staying Paleo on the road? at the hotel? at a restaraunt? staying with friends/family who are not Paleo?
I'd love for you to share your suggestions and when I get back I will share any insight I may have post vacation.
Wish Me Luck!

I always take snack-like foods: nuts, fruit, beef jerky (a clean, healthy version) and even packets of coconut oil and almond butter. A jar of sunbutter might be good to have, too. Somehow, snacks look less obnoxious and travel fairly well.
ReplyDeleteIf you're eating Paleo by choice and not medical necessity, you can be a little more relaxed. I can't. I freak at the thought of cross-contamination, so I'm a pain in the but as a houseguest.
Good luck and hope you have a wonderful time,
pamela
Hi Pamela!
DeleteThanks for your input...I am really nervous because I am quite religous about being Paleo. I only cheat with 'real food' treats that are paleo acceptable so this is going to be really hard for me. I can be more relaxed and probably should be...but I am afraid it's just going to spiral out of control and lead me back into my old sugar addiction and bad cycle so I just don't and stay militant. I guess I am a pain in the butt too *giggle*
Thanks for the well wishes!
Laurie
